Marie started piano at a very young age in a group piano class and went on to study with several private instructors. Her passion for music is built on the goal to convey a message whether it be an emotional feeling or physical surrounding. As a piano accompanist, she encourages interaction and collaboration to gain new techniques, ideas, and build great people skills. She also encourages the art of patience in her students, emphasizing that with patience comes the enjoyment of the process as well as the achievement. These tools are not only important to music but for the different, and often difficult, phases of life as well.
She is captivated by the beauty of nature and often uses it as a source of musical inspiration. She enjoys emphasizing the elements of imagery and storytelling into her lessons. Having written a few piano solos, a couple duets, and a trio, she also encourages the craft of musical composition, whether hand-written or improvisatory. Her goal is to help students find a place to not only explore the fantastical and emotional characteristics of music, but to gain a great appreciation of music for future investigation.
