Brandon Chandler started his musical journey 17 years ago, as a self-taught guitarist and singer/songwriter gigging around his hometown of Portland, OR. Soon after, he began travelling up and down the west coast and across the south. In 2008, what began as a hobby turned into a professional venture when he was serendipitously invited to play at SXSW in Austin, TX. It was at this show that he met the former VP of International A&R at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Kathleen Carey. After his set, he was offered a publishing deal with Casablanca Media Publishing and later a record deal as a developing artist with Sony Music Entertainment.
In 2009, he moved to Los Angeles where he wrote and recorded with platinum- selling writer/producer Andrew Williams (Five For Fighting), Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat, Augustana, OneRepublic), as well as Warner Brothers recording artist, Jason Reeves, Tim Fagan and others. His time sharing recording studio space with other artists like Colbie Calliat, Jason Mraz, and Nelly Furtado helped him hone his recording skills, guitar playing, and song writing abilities.
To date, he’s had over 30 original songs placed on national and international television shows on networks like ABC, ABC Family, NBC, MTV, and CW.
His influences stretch far and wide, from Jeff Buckley to Dave Matthews, Radiohead and Pearl Jam. Brandon also draws inspiration from blues and soul thanks to his extended family’s southern roots.
He’s released five albums and is currently working on his sixth. He moved to Madison in 2015 to further his education.
