Ever since Ilya Litvin can remember, violin was his comfort object. As a toddler, his parents would give him a small violin to hold to stop him from crying. That comfort turned into a love for the violin at the age of 7 when Ilya started taking lessons. 13 years later, Ilya continues to study violin professionally and teach as well. As a teacher of 5 years, his love for teaching, mentoring, and spreading positivity to those he teaches has become a passion. As Ilya learned from The Russian School of Music, he continues to teach with this method as well. He enjoys playing all kinds of genres and styles, in particular, improvising with non-classical music. Ilya’s favorite music artist is Odesza and his favorite composer is J.S. Bach.
Ilya is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin who now attends the University of Wisconsin Madison. He is pursuing a degree in economics with math and entrepreneurship. Although music will always be his passion, Ilya also aspires to create energy startups that will benefit the environment and the planet. Ilya loves to teach and learn from his students at the same time. He likes to challenge his students with problem solving, finding ways to constantly improve, and setting their own small goals that keep them driven. He believes that music is the best way to discover yourself, discover others, and the true meaning of freedom. On his spare time, Ilya enjoys reading, swimming, science, and learning.
