OCTOBER/NOVEMBER
Drawing 101 (K-Grade 3)
Wednesdays, 4-5:15pm: Oct 19, 26, Nov 2, 9
This skill-building class for the young artist encourages and shapes early drawing
techniques. Each session will build on the skills learned as students work their
sketches and ideas into finished pieces of fantastic artwork!

Gallery Art (K-Grade 3) New!
Thursdays, 4-5:15pm: October 20, 27, Nov 3, 10
Learn the principles of art while using paint, pastels, pencil, and more in this
mixed media class. Using art history as a source of inspiration, students will
create works of art based on subjects that influenced famous artists like Van
Gogh, Picasso, and Warhol.

Storybook Art (Grades K-3)
Tuesdays 4-5pm: Oct 18, 25, Nov 1, 8
Create art inspired by all your favorite books. Books like The Hungry Caterpillar
and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant help ignite the creative spark. The class will
cover a range of materials in a mixed medium application.

A Palette of Art (Grades 5-8)
Tuesdays 5:15-6:15 pm: October 11,18, 25
Try something new every day! This is a great course for those who are
interested in learning a variety of techniques in different media. Methods taught
will include watercolor painting, sculpture, drawing, and beadwork. These
techniques will be combined in each student’s own creative way to form a final
masterpiece!

Advanced Drawing (Grades 4-8)
Wednesdays 4-5pm: Oct 19, 26, Nov 2, 9
This advanced class is for students looking to push their artistic skills to the next
level. Join your peers to learn new drawing techniques through the use of
pastels, pen and ink, and much more. Students are encouraged to bring in
specific projects.

Family 3D Art (any age with parent or grandparent)
Thursdays 4-5pm: Oct 20, 27, Nov. 3, 10
Family art time! We provide the project, the materials, and the clean up–all you
have to do is provide the artistic magic. Work with papier-mâché, model magic,
paint, and a host of other materials in creating fun and unique sculptures
together.

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER
All Mixed Up (Grades K-3)
Mondays 4-5pm: Nov 14, 21, 28, Dec 5
Create artwork using dozens of different techniques and mediums. Papiermâché,
collage, pastels, paint, sculpture, and much more will be used to create
highly stylized art. Expect to draw, print, paint, sculpt, and more. Have special
ideas for projects? Let us know! Supplies included.

Painting 101 (Grades 2-5)
Wednesdays 4-5pm: Nov 16, 30, Dec 7, 14 (no class 11/23)
Do you like painting flowers, tigers, or even spooky space creatures? Then this is
the class for you! Take the next step in creating beautiful paintings in Painting
101. Each session will teach you skills to become a better painter with basic
direction and practice. Learn how to plan your paintings and how to match and
blend colors like a pro. Paint with watercolors, tempera, and acrylic paints on
paper, board, and canvas.

Learn to Draw (Grades 3-6)

Take your drawing skills to a new level! Learn the secrets to becoming a better
artist through techniques that never fail. Each class will build your skills and
knowledge to help you become more skillful at drawing and sketching. Draw
with pencil, markers, color pencils, and oil pastels to create dramatic images.

Painting for Kids (Grades 4-8)
Tuesdays 6-7pm: Nov 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Dec 6
This course is an introduction of different painting mediums to kids interested in
exploring their artistic side. Their confidence will continue to grow as they are
shown how to use a number of different mediums, including watercolor and
acrylic. Painting is fun and a great way to show self expression in this free-form
paintings class.

This class is a wonderful introduction to a wide range of art materials. Class will cover various media such as painting, drawing and sculpture.

Cartooning 101 (2nd-6th grade)
Wednesdays 5-6 pm: January 18, 25, February 1, 8
Have fun creating your own characters while learning the basics of cartoon art. Design, create, and write your own stories by using your imagination—just like the pros!

Paint with Confidence (3rd- 6th grade)
Thursdays 5-6 pm: January 19, 26, February 2, 9
This class will explore acrylic, watercolor and tempera paint. Each session will help young artists work on skills and techniques to help achieve their artistic potential. The class will focus on grasping the fundamental concepts of composition, color theory, and paint mixing.

Pre Painting (Ages 3-5 years)
Wednesday 2-3pm: Jan 25, Feb 1, 8, 15
This course is a fun way to play with paint. We will be painting rocks of
all sizes and change them into pets of all types, friends or decorative objects for the home. Painting is fun and a great way to show self expression in this free-form painting class. Just show up with your rocks and let the creating begin!!

FEBRUARY
Young Rembrandts (K-3rd Grade)
Tuesdays 5-6pm: February 14, 21, 28, March 6
This is a drawing class that will work on the simple concepts of shape and form to create more realistic and detail drawings. Artists will work in pastels, color pencil, & markers while using drawing methods that never fail to produce breathtaking results.

3-D Art (2nd – 6th grade)
Wednesdays 5-6pm: February 15, 22, 29, March 7
The class will use found objects such as tin cans, cardboard, egg cartoons just to name a few, to create highly fun and creative sculptures. Use paint, glue, paper mache, and model magic to complete your three dimensional masterpieces.

Pure Drawing (2nd-6th grade)
Thursdays 5-6pm: February 16, 23, March 1, 8
A drawing class that will focus on methods and techniques that will help improve realism and self-expression. The class will deal with value and shading along with perspective.

Painting for Kids (Grades 2-5)
Tuesdays 6:15-7:15pm: Feb 21,28, March 6,13,20, 27
Using master painters, such as Van Gogh, Picasso, and Pollock as inspiration, your child will explore and experiment with adapting their techniques to express their own thoughts and ideas more clearly. Each week we will focus on one style to let the young aspiring artist push their painting skills to the next level.

MARCH
Acrylic Painting (3rd-6th grade)
Tuesdays 5-6pm: March 13, 20, 27, April 3
In this class for serious young painters, students will learn how to paint highly detailed and stylized pieces of artwork using acrylic paints. Instruction will focus on techniques for mixing, blending, and layering colors on both board and canvas.
Prerequisite: Open to students who have taken a previous painting class at Rhapsody or school.
