Music and Movement Classes for Young Children (0-6 years)

Early exposure to music and movement is at the heart of  music readiness classes. We emphasize structured play, combining music and movement in activities designed specifically to enhance the developmental capabilities of young children and promote bonding between caregiver and child.

Off-site class information

Early childhood music classes are also available in child care centers. Please ask about having a Rhapsody teacher travel to your child’s daycare or preschool.

Early Childhood (3 months– 6 years)

Babies Music (3-18mo, with caregiver)

Participating in music enhances bonding between baby and caregiver while encouraging the discovery of sounds, movement, and textures.  Watch as your child’s language skills increase through singing and vocal play.

Toddler Tunes (18mo-3yrs, with caregiver)

Repetition of familiar tunes, dances, and books stimulates the toddler’s musical learning. By absorbing new melodies and predicting the movements that will accompany them, young children are more easily able to soothe themselves and develop critical listening skills. Come share this time with your toddler while singing and dancing to your favorite songs and learning new ones as well.

Family Music (18 months – 5 years)

Wednesdays 11-11:45am Tuition is based on a sliding scale basis: $80  for one child, $120 for two children, and $160 for three children.

Music and Me (3-5 years, with caregiver)

Experience the joy of music making through song, movement, rhythm instruments, and story-telling.  Children and caregivers will join together in playful activities that introduce beginning musical concepts and reinforce social and communication skills.

Acting for Little Ones (4-6yrs)

Does your child possess a theatrical flair?  Does he or she enjoy musical fun and games?  Come join the fun as we explore the world of children’s theater through music, storytelling and group activities.  This exciting class is designed to encourage social skills, coordination, and self esteem as well as an early awareness of theater and drama.

September 28-November 9 (no class October 26)

Kids N Keys (5-6yrs)

This popular class involves children in singing folk songs, learning to play simple instruments, and teaches early keyboard skills.  Pre-reading exercises are focused on learning to recognize musical symbols and writing simple music notation; good preparation for private piano lessons or our beginning piano class. Method book included.

Little Voices (5-6yrs)

Young singers come together and experience their first group singing class in Little Voices.  The class introduces music notation and beginning singing techniques through vocal play and music games.
