Group classes provide a fun musical encounter with other students. Research shows that most people learn best in groups. Interaction between students enhances healthy competition with more accurate musical ability and performance skills.

    Elementary School (6-12 years)

    Beginning Piano (6-8yrs, 9-11yrs)

    This ten-week class is perfect for the student with an
    interest in the piano and the parent with reservations about
    their child’s commitment to the study. No prior experience
    needed—we start with the basics! Teaching methods are
    tailored to match the developmental stages of each age
    group.

    Throughout the course, students participate in musical
    games, rhythm drills, learn musicianship and develop ear
    training skills to assist them in learning musical concepts.
    Students must have access to a piano for practice and to
    complete class assignments. Method book included.

    6-8yrs: Tuesdays 4-4:45pm $165/10 weeks

    SECTION 1: Sept 20-Dec 6 (no class Oct 25 or Nov 22)
    SECTION 2: February 7- April 17 (no class April 3)

    9-11yrs: Tuesdays 5-5:45pm $165/10 weeks

    *Sections are not cumulative. Students who complete one section
    of beginning piano often choose to take partner lessons with
    another student from the class, or take private piano lessons.

    Movie Star Singers (7-12yrs)

    Students will learn the basics of singing, breath support,
    matching pitch, and keeping a steady beat while learning to
    sing their favorite Disney and popular tunes. Budding singers
    will build their confidence and increase vocal projection
    with breathing exercises and proper posture. No prior
    experience needed. Materials included.

    Thursdays 5-5:45pm $165/10 weeks

    SECTION 1: Sept 22– Dec 8 (no class Oct 27 or Nov 24)
    SECTION 2: February 9-April 19 (no class April 5)

    The Play’s The Thing! (7-12yrs)

    Audition, rehearse, and perform in “The Good Neighbors”,
    a fractured fairy tale written and directed by Rhapsody’s
    theater instructor Genia Allard. No prior acting experience
    is required, but students should be comfortable with
    reading from a script. For the performance, memorization
    will be expected.

    The first class will include an audition, and every child will
    receive a speaking part. The final performance will take
    place during the last class period; family and friends are
    invited to attend. There is a minimum enrollment of five and
    a maximum enrollment of seven students for this class.

    Saturdays 10-11am $110/6 weeks

    SECTION 1: September 17-October 22
    SECTION 2: February 4-March 10

    Hitchhikers Guide to Theory (13-18 yrs)

    This class will dive into the inner workings of music by
    exploring why some combinations of sounds are pleasing to
    the ear, while others can sound like fingernails on a
    chalkboard! This is a great course for those that are curious
    about how and why music works the way it does!

    Thursdays 6-6:45pm $110/10 weeks

    Chamber Ensemble (13-18 yrs)

    Music making can be even more meaningful when we discover
    music together! Learn ensemble rehearsal techniques and
    how to play well with other musicians. Repertoire chosen
    based on the level, instrumentation, and interests of those
    registered. If you already have someone you like to play
    music with, invite them to join us, too!

    Thursdays 6:15-7pm $125/10 weeks

    September 22-December 8 (no class Oct 27 & Nov 24)

    Auditions Coaching (16-18 yrs)

    Do you have an important audition coming up for a school
    scholarship or competition? Are you a high school junior
    thinking about auditioning for a performing arts college next
    year and want to get a head start? Get the extra help you
    need to do your best! We can work on everything from
    choosing the correct material and creating a resume or just
    simply polishing up an already put together performance.

    Most importantly, you will learn how to be confident and
    have fun at your audition or competition!

    Sessions are $25 for 30 minutes. Pick from 4, 7 or 10
    lesson packages. Dates and times individually
    arranged.

    This program is designed for beginning guitar students with no prior music experience. Playing a real guitar is more fun than Guitar Hero! Throughout the course, students learn musicianship and develop rhythmic and ear training skills to assist them in learning about solo and ensemble playing. Students must have their own guitar for use during the class and practice at home. Materials included.
    $170/10 weeks

    Musical Theater Exploration (9-12yrs)

    September 16– November 18 Thurs 6:30-7:15pm
    January 20-March 24 Thurs 6:30-7:15pm

    Explore your voice and learn how to act in this dynamic and interactive ten-week musical theater class. Students will study and perform segments from familiar musicals while learning expressive vocal and acting techniques. During the last class session, students will present a performance for family and
    friends.

    $175/10 weeks

    Creative Composition (10-12yrs)
    September 29– November 17 Wed 7:00-7:45pm

    This class is ideal for the musical student eager to learn more
    about the building blocks of music. Students will become
    comfortable reading and writing music in treble and bass clef,
    study advanced musical symbols and terminology, and learn
    to compose their own music! Prerequisite: at least one prior
    year of private study on a musical instrument is required.
    $80/8 weeks
