Group classes provide a fun musical encounter with other students. Research shows that most people learn best in groups. Interaction between students enhances healthy competition with more accurate musical ability and performance skills.

Babies Music

Participating in music enhances bonding between you and your baby while encouraging the discovery of sounds. Watch as your child’s natural instincts develop through singing and vocal play.

Toddler Tunes

Repetition of familiar tunes, dances, and books stimulates the toddler’s musical learning. By absorbing new melodies and predicting the movements that will accompany them, young children are more easily able to soothe themselves and develop critical listening skills. Come share this time with your toddler while singing and dancing to your favorite songs and learning new ones as well.

This preschool music class encourages your young child to create, learn, play, and express himself/herself through musical fun. Classes include instrument play, songs, and movement activities in a supportive environment that promotes independence.

Little Voices

Young singers come together and experience their first group singing class in Little Voices. This class introduces music notation and beginning singing techniques through vocal play and music games. The students will put on a small presentation for family and friends on the last day of class.

This class engages children in singing folk songs, learning to play simple instruments, and introduces them to reading and writing simple music notation; all within the process of developing basic keyboard skills. Kids and Keys is excellent preparation for private piano lessons or our beginning piano class.

Rhapsody’s beginning piano class is ideal for the student with an interest in the piano and the parent with reservations about their child’s commitment to study. No experience needed—we start with the basics! Class is limited to five students. Students must have access to a piano for daily practice.

Kids on Broadway

Play cool music games, build confidence in your voice, increase your projection and perform group and solo songs in this week-long class. Students will learn to sing popular Broadway hits with healthy vocal techniques. A small performance for family and friends featuring our budding stars will be held on the last day of class.

Music Your Parents Hate

Ever wonder what it would sound like to have an entire violin section play squeaky toys in unison? Or how about an amplified typewriter can create musical sounds? This class will explore the extremes of “classical music,” featuring masterpieces of the very loud and very soft, the uncannily consonant and the obnoxiously dissonant, the bracingly serious and unexpectedly silly.

Russian Classical Music for Beginners

This class will survey both the most popular works of the Russian classical repertoire and those underplayed gems that remain virtually unknown to most audiences. Come ready to listen!

“Friday” Frets
Tuesdays 6-7pm: 6/18, 7/23, 8/20
Held on Friday during the academic year, this summer version of Friday Frets is designed to give Rhapsody students a unique opportunity to hear what other guitar and drum students and their teachers are working on. Students will be introduced to music outside of what they are covering in their individual lessons and listening to on their own. Enjoy an opportunity to perform in a fun and relaxed environment. Classes are not consecutive and students who do not wish to attend all three can opt for individual classes. The registration deadline for each class is one week prior to class date.

This popular class engages children in singing folk songs,

learning to recognize musical symbols and writing simple

piano lessons or to our beginning piano class. Method book
included.

This ten-week class is perfect for the student with an
interest in the piano and the parent with reservations about
their child’s commitment to the study. No prior experience
needed—we start with the basics! Teaching methods are
tailored to match the developmental stages of each age
group.
Throughout the course, students participate in musical
games, rhythm drills, learn musicianship, and develop ear
training skills to assist them in learning musical concepts.
Students must have access to a piano for practice and to
complete class assignments. Method book included.

Movie Star Singers (7-12yrs)
Students will learn the basics of singing, breath support,
matching pitch, and keeping a steady beat while learning to
sing their favorite Disney and popular tunes. Budding singers
will build their confidence and increase vocal projection
with breathing exercises and proper posture. No prior
experience needed. Materials included.

Group Guitar (9-12yrs)
This program is designed for beginning guitar students with
no prior music experience. Throughout the course,
students learn musicianship and develop rhythmic and ear
training skills to assist them in learning about solo and
ensemble playing. Students must have their own guitar for
use during the class and practice at home. Materials
included.
Saturdays 10-10:45am $170/10 weeks
September 28-December 8 No class 11/24

Auditions Coaching (16-18 yrs)
Do you have an important music/theater audition coming up
for a school scholarship or competition? Are you a high
school junior thinking about auditioning for a performing arts
college next year and want to get a head start? Get the extra
help you need to do your best! We can work on everything
from choosing the correct material and creating a resume or
just simply polishing up an already put together performance.
Most importantly, you will learn how to be confident and
have fun at your audition or competition!
Sessions are $25 for 30 minutes. Pick from 4, 7 or 10
lesson packages. Dates and times individually
arranged.

Flute Choir (12-18 years)
A flute choir is an ensemble of the flute family: Piccolo, C
Flute, Alto Flute, and Bass Flute. We will be working on a
few fun pieces with a small performance at the end of the
session. We will practice playing together as an ensemble, try
new types of flutes, and explore basic and extended
techniques. The flute choir is challenging yet fun, allowing
students to harmonize and blend their sounds—things a solo
flute can’t do alone!
