Anthony Caulkins

Guitar, Bass, Saxophone, Mandolin

IT Coordinator

Anthony Caulkins started in the world of performing arts at the age of two, working in theatre and puppetry.  That love of performing spread to a desire to play various instruments.  He started playing the cello in the school orchestra in 3rd grade and then added the guitar to his repertoire. By the time Anthony started middle school he wanted to play the saxophone as well and started to play with the middle school band. In 10th grade he began to learn piano and in 11th he began his study of the mandolin. This year he started to learn the bassoon, as his quest to learn more about music and instruments is unending.

Anthony is currently attending UW-Madison’s School of Music where he is studying guitar with Professor Javier Calderon, bassoon with Professor Marc Vallon, and composition with Professor Steve Dembski.  He is pursuing a B.M. in Music Composition and plans to continue to graduate school where he will study composition and conducting.

Through his work in theatre, puppetry, and music, Anthony has had the opportunity to work with all ages. He believes in exposing people to a variety of music, thereby broadening people’s musical perspectives and strengthening their musical understanding and skills. In addition to teaching adults, Anthony particularly enjoys working with young people and giving them an opportunity to enjoy and experience music. He believes that enabling them to see what they can achieve helps build their self-confidence.
