Genia* Allard is very excited to be a part of the teaching faculty at Rhapsody Arts Center as a teacher of beginner and intermediate piano and theater. Genia is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM), as accredited by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

Genia has lived in the area for thirteen years. Before she joined the teaching faculty at Rhapsody Arts Center she was a teacher at Preschool of the Arts in Madison, and has also taught music for A Step Above Dance and Music Academy in Monona. She earned a BFA in Theater Arts from Carroll College in 1998, having studied in different venues around the world. She performed at the International Theater Festival “Podium” in Moscow in May of 1997, the American Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and the University of San Jose, Costa Rica, as well as theaters throughout Guatemala and El Salvador. She also attended the University of Nottingham, England. Genia has studied piano for over 25 years, under June Reinke Brus of Carroll College, Dr. Kui Min, and currently under Shu-Ching Chuang of Madison. In 2003, she earned a Childhood Development Accreditation (CDA), and in July of 2011, she earned National Certification in Piano through the MTNA.

For the past 8 years, Genia has maintained active membership in the First Brigade Band,Watertown, WI as a vocalist and alto horn player. She has guest soloed with the Waunakee Community Band as well as the Madison Brass Band. She served as Sunday School Pianist and Solo Vocalist for The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Madison, as well as Music Committee Chair. Genia has also been an active member of Lighthouse Singers, directed by Jonathon Overby. She currently studies voice under Wendy Rowe of Madison.
