Kathy Mohs
Piano, Voice
Master Level Teacher
Kathy is thrilled to be a new voice and piano teacher at the Rhapsody Arts Center! Kathy has both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been teaching at the Stoughton Center for the Performing Arts since the completion of her master’s in 2005. In the summer of 2005, Kathy performed the role of Maria in The Sound of Music for Stageworks Projects and the Stoughton Center for the Performing Arts. While she was studying opera and preparing for recitals during the school year, in the summer of 2002, Kathy studied opera, operetta and german lieder in Graz, Austria through the American Institute of Musical Studies. It was in Graz that she had the honor of being the soprano soloist in Gounod’s St. Cecile Mass with double choir and orchestra. She also studied opera in Urbania, Italy in the summer of 2004, through the La Musica Lirica program. It was there that she performed the roles of Susanna, Despina and Nanetta. Kathy loves to perform, be it musical theatre, sacred works or opera. She believes that a performing musician needs to be versatile…and needs to know how to teach!
