Kristy Hylbert
Art

Kristy Hylbert grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. From a young age, she has been enthusiastically practicing art of all kinds. Her fascination with art continued throughout her school years, and eventually led her to study art in college. In May of 2010, Kristy graduated Cum Laude from Edgewood College, with a Bachelor’s degree in Art. During her years at Edgewood, Kristy’s studio experiences included working within a wide range of media, including acrylic, watercolor, pencil, charcoal, clay, photography, etching, and woodworking.
Kristy has had extensive experience working with children, from growing up with her nieces and nephews, to her current position as lead teacher of YMCA’s After School program at Core Knowledge Charter School in Verona, WI. She also enjoys sharing her passion for art through volunteering with Community Partnership, where she practices art therapy with special needs and at-risk children.
Kristy believes that every child is an artist, and that with practice and encouragement, her/his talents will blossom. With her well-rounded studio experience, her enthusiasm for teaching art to children, and her dedication to the creative process, Kristy will surely bring out the inner artist in each child.
